Image tokens
The main feature is image tokens. This has been the number one requested feature for a long, long time. There are now interfaces for adding images to “token sets”. Maps can have one token set active at a time. Images can be added in a token management screen outside maps, and from the token box inside maps. Each token set can hold 256 images. Natively each image is a cropped square 256 x 256px. The token set is also downloadable as a JSON formatted bundle and importable so token image sets can be shared.
Hover Info
Hovering over tokens now shows the name if it’s longer than two characters
Color Palette Changes
There is now a blue row in the palette. Added, a color ‘memory’ for the color picker, so adding new colors creates new entries in the palette (maximum of 8)
Background Color
The map background color can now be set in the “layers” sidebar.
Thank you so much Mike. I have been using Gamescape for I think getting close to a year now (since I stumbled across a Ginny Di video “D&D is Free Actually” that mentioned Gamescape https://youtu.be/tm_mIKnOOVU?si=PyCw0kt8hRBH6a9K&t=758) and I love it. Being able to hover and see the entire name of a creature/player/npc is super helpful, and I am looking forward to constructing a set of tokens. Thanks again for your time and dedication to Gamescape!
I’m glad it’s useful to you! Will be interested to hear your experience with the token images. My gaming group has been on pause for a few weeks so I haven’t actually gotten to try it while playing yet.
We actually only game this party 2nd Wednesdays each month and alternate DMs (part of the campaign we’re developing). My alternate DM has been using Roll20 for years. I will DM next I think in November. So far so good, I uploaded about 100 tokens already and added them to our game table. The images are crisp at different sizes so the appearance is really good. I had used some “pog-maker” application years ago to make a bunch of tokens that are perfect for Gametable tokens. I will send you the URL if I can find them it (I think I found the site, but want to make sure). Thanks again for your hard work over the years, I appreciate you Mike.
